Stonington Free Library Storytime for a Cause

  • 4 photos
  • The Stonington Free Library Children's Room hosted a story time in support of the Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness' new campaign Be Homeful. Micayla Hall, the assistant librarian of the Children's Room, read "Paddington the Bear" to the families in attendance. The famous literary character is the "spokesbear" for the project because he was once homeless. After the story the children decorated a marmalade jar for collecting coins for the cause. The donations will be accepted at Connecticut branches of People's United Bank between Mother's Day and Father's Day. Lisa Tepper-Bates, executive director of the coalition, and her son, Jacob, attended the event.
